How these articles are written
Every article starts from a specific news item, not from a topic. The linked article is downloaded and distilled into standalone facts, each capped at fifteen words — short enough that no sentence can travel inside one.
The draft is then written with web search switched OFF. The model never sees the original prose, so it cannot reproduce it. That change took copied passages from twelve to zero on the same article; asking the model not to copy had made it worse.
Before publishing, a DIFFERENT model checks every factual claim against its sources, and every sentence is searched literally on the web for copied passages. Both results are shown with how much of the text was actually reviewed — a clean result means nothing without knowing how much was looked at.
